Can anyone tell me if the triggers and pads affect the sound produced by the brain? A roland TD3 kit cost around £650, however is available with different pad from www.thomann.de for just £385. But will the out come be the same or not? |

the feel will be diff will be the main difference but it wont make the sound different, the response will not be as good though. electric drum kits are too expensive for what they are anyway

To get an electronic kit to feel the same as an acoustic one, your looking at spending thousands. I think the best thing to do would be to either try it, or check out sound samples on youtube or somewhere similar to see the quality for yourself. |

True, but you could always record the drums seperate. I doesn't take 8 channels to record drums. |

Fair point i record drums on my drummers TD-6 In that case i agree with bullet check samples on youtube.. and if possible get a TD6 with those pads.. not a TD3 my drummer said the TD3's are a bit too budget like so he paid the extra for the TD6 |

I'm no expert on drum kits, especially electronic ones, but look at this http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_yamaha_...xpress3_set.htm Has mesh heads, which are much better quality and has the yamaha sound module, looks good to me. |

I think that different pads and triggers won't affect the sound by the brain though. It's electronic, anything that triggers the sound by the brain should make the same sound? Am I right? In terms of comfortability of playing though, you should probably get something with mesh heads |

They don't seem to be a sturdy as acoustic kits to be honest. Especially the lower priced ones. They seem nice they are really easy to break |
