Okeydokey guys. Heres a thread documenting the modding of my Stratocaster with a Neck-On switch. Heres me playing the guitar pre-mod with my band last year: Heres the switch: Heres the schematic: Heres me soldering the switch: Fag break: Heres the drilled hole on the Pickguard: Soldering the Switch to the guitar: Finished Pics: DEBRIEF: Damn glad I found that switch lying around my house. I now have a 7-Sound strat...8 if you count the coil-tapped humbucker. Its a simple mod, really easy. I recommend anyone to do this. The sound from the Bridge and Neck pickups combined is a really smooth, contoured tone. Awesome sound. The only niggle I have, is that my neck pickup is a singlecoil, and my Bridge is a Humbucker. So, the volume from the Humbucker is a lot higher than the Neck pickup. I'm considering replacing the neck pickup with a Seymour Duncan Humbucker, to even out the volume sounds. Cheers for reading, comment if you want. -Mick. |

hey man i have done this myself a while back i had 3s/c so i had an even volume level. sounded really really sweet well actually to solve your problem if you could be botherd doing it is add an extra volume knob to even out the sound. it would be alright to if you were going from rhtyem to lead. just an idea but also you could add a mid-boost circuit just to your 2 single coils??? |

Mid boost is one thing I'm looking to do very soon. I have a nice little schematic drawn out, which I will share very shortly. Not worth my time putting in any more circuitry to even out the sound, as the Neck pup will be replaced soon. After that, my next mod is a 9v Active preamp. Cheers for the comment. -Michael. |

+100000 on lighting fags with matches
They just taste better Nice mod, might do something to one of my Jacksons some time I hope to be building a neck-thru 7-string soon, as my school RM GCSE project died due to my injury This will involve a lot of photographs and I'll need to remove a fretboard from a neck, so keep an eye out in the next few months

Matches frickin OWN Gas lighters. At least you know when your matches are gonna run out. Awesome, make sure you document it, I feel its great to have some tutorials. Being more on the Techy side of music, I might post some video tutorials on modding Pedals and such. Building a new Hybrid Les Paul over the summer, watch out for that. Also, getting my hands on an Epiphone Valve Junior soon, so Mods galore. -Mick. |
