Getting distortion?

Hi,

I just bought the Squire Affinity Starter Pack which comes with a Frontman 15G amp. Its exactly like the package in this youtube video:

Thing is, I cant seem to get the sound like he gets towards the end of the video, ive tried all sorts of combinations and I just cant get it. Please help

Crank the gain, bass 8, mid 6, treble 7, neck pickup. That's just my guess, after all he does have it mic'd up and it's hard to differentiate between that sound and what you'd get in your room. Just play about with it man, you'll get there.

just a thought but small practice amps often have sucky distortion. get a distortion pedal and run the amp clean it will sound way better and not be expensive. something like a boss ds-1 will work fine.

yeah, i watched the video however he has it miked and you don't know if he as any additional processing to make it sound better for the video. the other thing is part of his sound is in his playing. he gets some pinch harmonics etc which is skill.
and now for something completely different
