first welcome ok here is some info on tab. the system represents the strings and frets on the guitar to show you precisely what notes to play and where they can be found on the neck here is and example (as best as i can do it here)

E -----------
B----------- here is how the strings would be represented with the bottom one
G -----------
D----------- being the low E etc.
A -----------
E -----------



E---3---- this represents a d chord in tab the notes are stacked to show
B---2---- a chord is to be played.
G---3----
D--0---
A-------
E -------

for single notes it would just be shown as a single note on whatever string is appropriate to form a solo section the notes won't be stacked except diads (two notes played together as a partial chord.
