Did you pay with paypal? There is always a way to get your money back with them... though it's sometimes a pain in the neck to deal with. If you are that desperate to get your money back though... contact the seller, tell him you wish to return it and that you are reporting it to paypal. Just file a complaint with them and say the item was incorrectly described. Then once you have the money back (could take a while!) send him the guitar back :)

I hope it goes well for you and I'm glad to hear you are going to be sticking around :D
Now the 'fun' begins... i didnt pay with paypal..lol... buuutttt..... i was looking around on ebay and there was a few helpful things i found about filing an item was not as described complaint about the seller and the item or something along those lines... so i think ill probably do that tomorrow so it gives the guy a bit more of a chance to reply to my original message i sent him... ebay definately has records of me buying the guitar from him becuase the transaction went through and feedback was left etc etc... the bloke i bought it from seemed genuine and helpfull enough so he was either really bold, gutsy and clever scamming me or daft as a brush!! yeah so hopefully he will be canny enough to just have a straight return, money for guitar thing on the go.

I was going to say something else there but i have completely forgottin what it was

just wondering if you don't have access to a good guitar store? personally a guitar is something that i won't ever buy over the net (unless it was dirt cheap). i feel that its important to play a guitar before buying. no matter how nice a guitar is it may not be right for you. i had a les paul that fell into my lap probably the most expensive guitar i've owned but ii just didn't suit me and i didn't end up keeping it. i occasionally go guitar shopping with students and will go thru 10-12 guitars before saying try this one and see what you think (yeah guitar center loves me). thats for a $150-$200 guitar for a grand i may play every candidate in the place twice before narrowing it down.
No i dont think i have to be honest... i cant think of any good stores around my area, not within my travelling distance any way.... yeah i completely hear you about trying out guitars and such, i new i wanted a tele just because of their versatility and sound they produce. I played one of my mates telecasters with a rosewood fretboard and i just loved it!! it felt especially gnarly since i only ever played my acoustic so bends and things were just effortless on his tele, felt strange but nice..ha.... i hold my hands up to the error i made buying it from ebay as it was, admitadly and absolute impulse purchase and i should have done some more research and looked out for the things that are different on the guitar...but...i think i am over the annoyance stage so far as long as i get it resolved then i can happily say something like "you live and learn"... but until then........
