Well hey, I'm Conor as you may have guessed (And no, my second name isn't Cavalera haha.) I'm 16 and have been playing bass for 3 years and guitar for around a 9 months maybe? I came here in hope to get more hands on advice about guitar and in hope to learn new things as well as y'know, meet a few good people to discuss music with. I grew up with the cliche stuff like slipknot, sum 41 etc. When Kerrang! Was still good it got me into Sepultura, Trivium's older stuff etc. I'm quite into my metal as well as black metal like Burzum, MAYHEM, Immortal etc. I range in tastes and I'm hoping you guys can maybe help me out by helping me achieve learning these different styles, which scales are used etc. I picked up bass because my brother gave me his first one, a peavey milestone. I was self taught by him before I got some lessons. I'd say my right hand is quite good but my left lags and stutters because in fact I used to be left handed, when I first picked one up I was left handed due to being left handed at school before forced to be right handed. I know some theory, hoping to learn more and I've played in a few bands for experience. I still use that peavey but right now I have a stagg metal bass, saving up for a Fender Jazz. Guitar, well that's a short story. I really just wanted to grasp another instrument, I know some chords, getting my strumming hand together slowly but surely but my rhythm is dreadful. I play a Dean Dimeblade which my mum got me as a surprise gift for christmas. Well, I hope to meet a few nice people around the board! |

That's interesting about the left handed thing. I'm left handed in writing, but strangely enough I have never had the urge to play left handed guitar Welcome to the forums
