New guitar fret question; Is this a problem?

Newbie Posts: 10 Group: Members Member #8,001 Joined: May 12, 2008	I just bought an ibanez S2170FB S Prestige Series. Just now i realised that the 9th fret wire will make a little popping sound when you press it in or play over it. Is this a problem. It dosent seem to have deadened any notes. It is around the high e and b strings that it happens on the fret. All help appreciated=]

Posts: 600 Group: Moderator Member #8,625 Joined: June 23, 2008	you'd have to go to a repair person i'm in the US so can't tell you what it would cost in the UK. if the guitar is new can you take it back to the place you got it. they should either replace the guitar of fix it for free.

Admin Posts: 1,834 Group: Admin Member #183 Joined: January 13, 2007	Yeah I think that sounds like loose fret wire. Take it back to where you bought and they will replace the guitar or fix it for you free of charge like monwo said
