I just bought a new S2170FB S Prestige Series. It had some loose fret wire and im thinking of swapping it for a different guitar, i got it for around £900. I was thinking a gibson les paul studio, im looking for something in a similar price range. I play all types of music, but mainly metal, classical rock etc all help appreciated |

For that amount of money I would probably get me the best LTD Eclipse I could get- LTD's are almost as good as ESP's (some wood differences, that's basically it). I personally like the EC-500 as it happens to come with holy grails (EMG 81 and EMG 60 pick-ups) though I think that one is much cheaper than 900 pounds... |

Ermmm, Ibanez to Gibson.... that's a big change. It depends what you are looking to play? And the LP Studio costs way less than £900. |

you could get a real high end epiphone Les Paul for that. alot of folks seem to find then to be better values than gibsons. why not just exchange the one you have for one that isn't defective? also a PRS singlecut might be a nice option on a LP style guitar. |
| and now for something completely different | |

There's nothing wrong with the LP Studio, and also it's ideal for those people who just can't afford to buy "the real thing". What is the horrible wood of which you speak? What do you think is underneath a Standard's veneer top? |
