I was thinking of buying an electric guitar and I am willing to spend about 200 dollars or so on it... I have an acoustic guitar but this will be my first electric guitar so I have no clue what to buy and could use all the help I can get in finding a good one. So if anyone has some advice for me it would be much appreciated. |

is there a decent guitar store near where you live? if so spend some time there and try out a few guitars in your price range. Squire Strats are good for the money and Epiphone makes a couple of acceptable guitars for that money as well. Ibanez makes a couple of real good chioces in that price range as well. What kind of music do you Play? don't forget that you will need an amp as well. |

ok ive looked around and I am thinking of buying these: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-SGSpecial-Electric-Guitar?sku=517239 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-GSR100Z-4String-Bass?sku=519499 http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Line-6-Spider-III-15-Guitar-Combo-Amplifier?sku=482276 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Monster-Cable-S100-14-Straight-Instrument-Cable?sku=331638 Yeah so I really have like 0 experience with electric guitars, only owned acoustic so far and I am not sure if there would be any more parts needed or if this is good... |

as far as begiinners guitars go the epiphone sg isn't bad. the more expensive ones are way better but that one is fine for where you're at. don't know about the bass but i thought you wanted to play guitar the amp is good for a beginner (there is some hate for line 6 here on the forum but they're really not bad for what they are) i use monster chords so gotta love them |
