New Combo Amp - Suggestions/Advice needed!

Hi there,

I am in need of a new amp. I've recently sold my ashdown fallen angel stack as it was too big and the tone wasn't entirely my cup of tea. I'm after a combo that will sound good at practice levels but can be cranked up for small venues if required later on (maybe through use of a cab extension).

I use a humbuckers on both my guitars, but the main will be a music man jp6 which im collecting soon (just to give you an idea of sound as i know line6 flextone sound awful with such humbuckers), and i'm after a prog rock sound mainly but ideally with a nice warmth on the clean channel for piezo use and for the occassional jazz playing. I'm preferable to valave amps after owning a peavey classic 30 and the ashdown but open to suggestions. Ideally looking to spend up to £600, but can push to £800ish if really needed.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

perhaps something like the Peavey 6505 2x12 would work. Bugera makes a couple of 2x12 as well that would be good choices. i'd look into used amps as well. you may be able to find a decent Marshall combo in your price range.
and now for something completely different

ok ill look into the bugera, must say i'm not a great fan of marshalls, my brother has a original vst100 and its so hit and miss with the gain its either too distorted to keep note clarity, or it lacks that slicey edge, but thankyou for the suggestions!
