I have been using my guitarists Boss BR-600 digital 8 track and I think I must have plugged in an incorrect power supply or something as now it has stopped working.
Is it beyond repair?

probably not beyond repair but may be to expensive to make it worth fixing. without checking out the unit i'd be hard pressed to tell you what's wrong.
and now for something completely different

If indeed you have used an incorrect power supply, then it has no hope. Its (practically) irrepairable, unfortunatly.

that sucks. Would the unit be any good as spares for people, or is it just fit for the scrap heap?

Aye, scrap. The whole thing is just one circuit board. No spare parts.

Although, does the unit still run from batteries?
