Hey i was wondering if anyone could help me on this, I am a left handed guitarist but i learned how to play around 5 years ago on and upside down right handed bass. Because of this i need a guitar with a left handed body but with the strings on upside down. I did this on my fender jazz and it worked fine, but i am looking to buy a fender strat, lefty and wondered if the strings being the other way would somehow effect the sound, like would it matter in terms of pick ups? thanks for any help. |

To be honest, it wouldnt make a huge difference. If whatever guitar you buy is already set-up (intonation-wise) it may have to be set up again. All in all, there wont be too much long-term problems. At least, none I can think of. (I'm sleepy. )-Mick. |

let me see if i have this straight. you want your first string to be the high E and not the lowE as normal? do you mean you play like Albert King and have the guitar upsidedown or backwards from the usual playing method. if you do that with a strat then yeah there would be a slight difference as the bridge pick up's slant would be different than normal. have you considered playing right handed? i'm a lefty myself and wasted the first 2 years of my playing with upsidown guitars until i said **** this it seems easier to frett with the hand i use all the time any ways. just a thought. |
| and now for something completely different | |
